Historic Downtown Walking Tours

Explore on foot some of Bend’s historic and architectural significant neighborhoods and sites around its historic downtown. Led by knowledgeable and trained museum volunteers, you’ll hear the unique stories of the places and people who called this community home.

Early Days of Bend

Travel back to a time when the river ran wild, Ponderosa pines were plentiful and Bend the Beautiful was a town in its infancy. Hear about early Bend through the stories of six Bendites and how these residents transformed a fledgling community into a booming town.

Reflections of History- An Architectural Tour

Stroll through the Drake Park Neighborhood Historic District, taking a step back in time when walking was the way to get around and neighborhoods were all about proximity. You’ll be introduced to architectural styles represented in the neighborhood, and how a community reflected a changing nation.

Redmond, OR Self-Guided Walking Tour

As one of the oldest incorporated towns in Deschutes County, the city of Redmond has a rich history, born from irrigation, agriculture, and development. Redmond Historic Landmarks Commission has published a walking tour guide, highlighting 36 buildings and residences ranging from early 20th Century up to World War II.
